SCOUT SHOP:  The scout shop is open the first and fourth Thursday from 5:00-8:00 pm and the 1st and 3rd Saturday from 10am -2pm. Stop in for all of your scouting needs. The store is closed on all holidays and three day weekend. Support your council and shop at the Tolochee scout shop. The store hours will change to the summer hours in May.

ROUNDTABLE:  Remember our monthly roundtable is held at Camp Tolochee on the first Thursday each month. The general meeting begins at 7 pm followed by break out meetings for Cub leaders and Scout leaders in separate roundtables. This is your opportunity to find out new programs, solutions to your questions and to meet old and new friends.

DISTRICT VOLUNTEERS:  If you are a unit leader of any kind and are preparing to step aside from your current position and you are wondering what you can do now instead of fading away. Come join the district committee. We have positions available and the best part is you can still see your friends, work with the scouts, go camping if you wish or not, and keep your mind and body involved in the greatest youth organization in the world. Oh and one other thing we are going to be 100 years old in 2010 and I am sure you want to be at that birthday party. Call the district Chairman Brad Brown at 912.266.0782 for a future at the district committee.

SCOUTING BIRTHDAY PARTY: This year we have an added program in the 100th Anniversary Party on March 13, 2010. We will have the District Pinewood Derby followed by the birthday party. We will have three bounce houses at Needwood Middle School along with a birthday cake. We are asking all units to participate by hosting a game either inside the gym or outdoors depending on the weather. Each unit will have a section of the gym with a game that cubs, scouts and siblings can have some fun. Please notify the District Executive whether your unit will be participating with a game or showing up.

100th anniversary celebration -  March 13, we'll be celebrating the BSA's birthday at the Camden Recreation Center with a BIG party of games and activities (starting at 10 am). We'll have pizza and birthday cake around noon and patches for those who come. Also at the Rec. Center will be the District Pinewood Derby   (starting at 9 am).  You can pre-register for the derby on Friday night 6-8 pm or Saturday morning 8-9 am.  Gregg White could use your help for the Derby. Contact him at 882-8762 or via his email at whitegm@hotmail.com

Scout Cards - Our Spring fund-raiser will be Scout Savings Cards again this year.  This year's card has some great values on it.  Cards will be distributed at the March Roundtable.  This is a great way to snag some extra program funds for your unit, or for your boys to earn money for Camp this summer.  Please have someone from your unit at the March RT to sign for the cards.

ADVENTURE BASE 100 - This is a traveling Scout museum and expo with lots of cool exhibits and hands-on activities for Scouts of all ages.  It will be in Jacksonville at the St. Johns Towne Center March 19-21 and it is FREE.  Check out the link in the middle of the home page for exact times and location.  It's definitely a trip worth taking with your Scouts!

April Roundtable - We're going to change things up a little for the April Roundtable - first of all it will be April 8th instead of April 1st (due to Holy Week)...AND it will take place in Folkston at the Folkston United Methodist Church right smack in the middle of town.  Those traveling from Camden: take Hwy 40 till it ends at the stop sign in Folkston. The building you see directly in front of you is the Methodist Church.  Turn left then take the next right for parking.

MARCH 2010:

Roundtable this month will be Thursday March 4, in Baxley at The First United Methodist Church.  We will be having our Kickoff for Scout Savings Cards!  Each unit is encouraged to attend in order to receive all of the information about the campaign.  If you can not attend please call Randy Buck 912-614-7575.

Scout Savings Cards are coming!!  This week we will begin our savings card campaign.  Each District card has many great vendors with a lot of great deals.  The money earned through selling cards could help your scout pay for summer camp or any other upcoming events.  The cards will be sold for Five Dollars a piece which is a bargain considering the savings on the cards.  The prizes for selling cards are great this year and each unit leader will receive their leaders guide at Roundtable.

Our District Derby Day/Birthday Party will be Saturday March 13, in Waycross at Southside Baptist Church.  We will have a fun filled program for all of the scouts!  There will be bouncing, games, food, fun, and racing!  Volunteers are still needed for this event to run successfully so please contact Randy Buck (912 614 7575), if you would like to volunteer.

Spring Fun With Son is just around the corner! Program dates are set for March 26-28th. We will have check in on that Friday starting at 4:00 p.m. and we will also have check for late arrivals on Saturday morning.  We have a great program developed for all of the Cub Scouts and their families. All are encourage to attend and join in on the spring fun!  Volunteers are still needed for this event too, so please contact Randy Buck (912 614 7575), if you would like to participate.
